The excellence of Madagascar

Madagascar is an island state located in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa, opposite Mozambique. It is a land rich in nature; in fact, it is home to 5 percent of the world's plant and animal species. Since the 17th century, Europeans began to be interested in the island as an important crossroads for the spices in which the country is rich. Spices animated the island's trade, which was due to the French presence.
